 Zita Roy Apollon est née à Cavaillon dans le sud d’Haïti. Elle fait ses débuts en art dès son jeune âge à l’école Sainte Rose de Lima à Port-au-Prince où elle apprend la peinture,la pyrogravure, le modelage et repoussage du cuir et du métal.
Après l’obtention de son diplôme en pharmacie, elle exerce le métier de pharmacienne pendant quelques années, puis elle émigre au Québec avec sa famille en 1969. Elle travaille comme enseignante à Drummondville et très vite se consacre exclusivement à sa famille.
Elle revient plus assidûment à l’art en 1989 : elle suit des cours de céramique et
obtient un certificat en Arts plastiques à l’Université du Québec à Montréal.
Avec ses doigts magiques et une imagination sans borne, alliant toujours Sciences et Art, elle pratique son art aux multiples facettes (peinture, couture, céramique,
broderie, crochet, pyrogravure, etc…) dans l’intimité de sa famille pour le plus
grand bonheur de ses sept enfants.

Zita Roy Apollon was born in Cavaillon in the south of Haiti. She made her debut in art at a young age at the Sainte Rose de Lima school in Port-au-Prince where she learned painting, pyrography, modeling and embossing of leather and metal.
After obtaining her diploma in pharmacy, she worked as a pharmacist for a few years, then she emigrated to Quebec with her family in 1969. She worked as a teacher in Drummondville and very quickly devoted herself exclusively to her family.
She returned more assiduously to art in 1989: she took ceramics classes and obtained a certificate in Plastic Arts at the University of Quebec in Montreal.
With her magic fingers and boundless imagination, always combining Science and Art, she practices her multifaceted art (painting, sewing, ceramics, embroidery, crochet, pyrography, etc.) in the privacy of her family for the greatest happiness of her seven children.
