Alix Rey is part of the "Reminiscences of Artists, a group of Haitian painters aimed to publicize the work of the painters of the country devastated by a terrible earthquake in January 2010. When he learned that the International Museum of Naive Art of Magog organized a symposium, he quickly rushed to apply to participate. «It keeps me really at heart because of my roots, he quips. After New York and Miami, Quebec is the third largest gathering of Haitians in the world. With its exhibition and collection, the Museum has confirmed its status as the Mecca of Haitian art. Really worth the effort to travel to see this. Some tables have been painted by artists who died here and it's just that we can observe.»

Besides the fifteen artists in attendance, visitors were able to attend a conference of the restorer of works of art Sherbrooke, Marie-Chantale Poisson. She came to talk about his project of restoring documents, paintings and frescoes in Haiti.

This symposium has come to crown one of the largest exhibitions of the institution "Culture is alive in Haiti. " Over 500 people attended the event in recent weeks. "We wanted to introduce this activity to try to reach a different clientele. It is a promotional tool we use certainly in the coming years, "says the Cultural Development Officer of the International Museum of Naive Art of Magog, Line Houde.

The next exhibition of the Museum will begin this Friday (April 8). It will be called "Day and night " and will continue until 19 June.
